Budrigannews.com – On Wednesday, the Supreme Court of the United States granted permission to the state of New York to implement a gun control law that was backed by Democrats and was enacted after the court overturned the state’s stringent licensing policy for firearms last year in a landmark decision that expanded gun rights.
Six members of the Gun Owners of America group asked the justices to overturn a lower court’s decision that allowed the law to be enforced. In October, U.S. District Judge Glenn Suddaby prevented much of the law from being enforced, but in December, the Manhattan-based 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals put that decision on hold while the state appeals.
