New Year Discounts on Tesla in U.S. and Canada
Budrigannews.com – Tesla (NASDAQ:) According to sales pages on its website on Wednesday, Inc. is offering discounts on Model 3 and Model Y vehicles that will be delivered this month in the United States and Canada. This comes amid concerns that the automaker will face softer demand as economies slow.
According to the pages, the company is offering free supercharging for 10,000 kilometers (6,000 miles) in addition to a $7,500 credit in the United States and a $5,000 credit in Canada for Model 3 and Model Y vehicles that will be delivered prior to the end of the year.
As part of a law designed to encourage automakers to reduce their reliance on China, the Biden administration’s Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), which provides rebates of up to $7,500 on EV purchases, has benefited Tesla.
The most recent discount comes just a few days after the Treasury Department of the United States put off releasing its proposed guidance on where electric vehicle batteries must be sourced.
Tesla has been experiencing decreasing demand, which has worried investors. In October, the company said that it would miss its goal of delivering vehicles this year, but it downplayed concerns about demand because its revenue fell short of Wall Street estimates.
The news website Electrek reported earlier this month that Tesla offered a $3,750 discount on December deliveries of Model 3 and Model Y vehicles in the United States.
