New Mexican oil refinery to start operating in 2023
Budrigannews.com – The national president of Mexican state oil company Pemex announced on Friday that the newest refinery will reach half of its crude processing capacity in July, marking the most recent shift in the project’s operations.
When it opens, the Olmeca oil refinery, which is being built next to the port of Dos Bocas, will be Pemex’s eighth facility. On Twitter, Lopez Obrador stated that by September 15, the day before Mexican Independence Day, it would process its full capacity of 340,000 barrels per day and produce 280,000 barrels per day of gasoline and diesel.
The president didn’t determine whether the treatment facility would create fuel or diesel before July 1 or whether the date would check the principal barrels of rough handled there.
At the symbolic opening of the Gulf Coast facility in July, Energy Minister Rocio Nahle said that Olmeca would produce its first barrel of fuel in December.
