New App from founders of Instagram

Budrigannews.com – On Tuesday, Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger made the launch of Artifact, an app that is powered by artificial intelligence and promises “a personalized news feed.”
Krieger stated in an Instagram post that he and Systrom “have been working with a talented team” to launch the service for more than a year. As we expand, we’re letting people in gradually, Krieger wrote. The public was invited to join a wait list on Tuesday.
The app, in contrast to Instagram, focuses more on articles than on photos. Platformer, which was the first to report the launch, claims that Artifact will allow for discussion with friends and will recommend content based on interests. A user’s feed will become more individualized based on what they click on, and popular articles from large media organizations to smaller bloggers will be displayed in a main feed.
The launch comes at a time when social media is seeing renewed activity. A number of newer services that help users get news and personal updates in a feed have gained traction in the wake of Twitter’s upheaval and uncertainty under Elon Musk’s ownership. In the meantime, the rapid growth of TikTok continues to encourage other apps, such as Instagram, to duplicate its features.
Artifact was referred to by Platformer as “TikTok for text” and possibly “even an unexpected attack on Twitter.”
Systrom and Krieger founded Instagram in 2010 and sold it to Meta in 2012 for $1 billion. According to reports at the time, the duo’s departure from Instagram in 2018 was caused by tensions with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg regarding the app’s direction and a desire to further integrate it into Facebook.
Instagram’s independence and uniqueness from Facebook is one of its most important characteristics. Debra Aho Williamson, principal analyst at eMarketer, stated, “The founders closely guarded that.”
Platformer reports that Systrom and Krieger have since established a company that focuses on future social apps. The initial product of that venture is Artifact.
