Nestle opened factory in Ukraine despite war
Budrigannews.com – Nestle (NESN.S) announced on Monday that it will invest 42.88 million Swiss francs to open a new production facility in western Ukraine.
Since Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, Nestle is one of the few international companies to announce new investments.
In a statement, Nestlé’s chief executive officer for the South Eastern Europe Market, Alessandro Zanelli, said, “This is an important move for Nestlé, taken in a very challenging time for the country.”
“We intend to make a food and culinary center point, guaranteeing gradual positions and serving the necessities of Ukrainians and all European residents with great items.”

The invasion of Ukraine by Russia has wrecked the country’s economy, which is expected to shrink by 35% this year, according to estimates from the International Monetary Fund. As Russia intensified its attacks on Ukrainian power facilities, power outages have spread across the nation in recent weeks.
Nestle, which currently employs approximately 5,800 people in Ukraine, intends to create 1,500 new jobs at its brand-new production facility in Smolyhiv, which is located in the Volyn region.
The new factory aims to boost production of cold sauces, seasonings, soups, and instant food, supplying both domestic and European markets.
