Myanmar leader calls for military aid

Budrigannews.com – In an interview that aired on Thursday, the head of a parallel civilian government stated that fighting a military junta that seized power last year has resulted in the deaths of at least 2,000 pro-democracy fighters in Myanmar. He also urged allies to provide military assistance.

Speaking to the Budrigannewa conference from an undisclosed location in Myanmar, Duwa Lashi La was acting president of the National Unity Government (NUG), which is made up of remnants of the administration of deposed leader Aung San Suu Kyi and others.

Duwa Lashi La, a retired teacher and lawyer in his seventies who fled his home in Kachin State in northern Myanmar with his family, stated, “We regard (the deaths) as the price we must pay.”

He and his colleagues have been labeled terrorists by the military, and citizens are not allowed to communicate with them. On the other hand, their civilian government has widespread support. Throughout the nation, allied armed groups known as the People’s Defense Forces have emerged.

In a flak jacket and helmet, Duwa Lashi La has been seen visiting troops who include professionals and former students who were driven to the jungles by military crackdowns.

He stated, “I have no idea when I will give up my life.”God’s will determines this.He stated, “I am already committed to making any sacrifice for my country.”

Since the military overthrew a democratic experiment that had been going on for a decade in February of last year and used deadly force to put down protests, the Southeast Asian nation has been in turmoil.

The Assistance Association for Political Prisoners, a rights group that has been keeping an eye on the unrest, says that in addition to the 2,000 deaths caused by fighting, more than 2,500 civilians have been killed elsewhere, mostly as a result of police crackdowns on protests.

SUPPORT LIKE UKRAINE The army armed by Russia, China, and India uses fighter jets to carry out deadly bombing raids to outgun pro-democracy fighters.

The United Nations estimates that since the coup, more than 1.3 million people have been forced to flee their homes. The United Nations has said that military attacks may be war crimes.

According to Duwa Lashi La, approximately 20,000 junta soldiers had been killed by the opposition. The numbers could not be independently verified.

He stated, “Safe to say that we could win in six months if we had anti-aircraft weapons.”The suffering of the people who are being killed would immediately end if we received the same support from the US and EU as Ukraine does.

The regional Association of Southeast Asian Nations, which has a convention of non-interference in each other’s affairs, is best positioned to resolve the crisis, despite Western nations’ support for the NUG and their sanction of military commanders and companies.

Myanmar was given a “warning” by Southeast Asian leaders last month to make measurable progress on a peace plan or risk being excluded from the bloc’s meetings.

The military has wouldn’t connect with rivals or common society gatherings.

According to Duwa Lashi La, negotiations were still possible, but the military needed to stop killing civilians, make a commitment to withdraw from politics, and repeal the constitution that established their authority.
