Budrigannews.com – The BBC reported on Wednesday that a small boat carrying migrants sank off the southeast coast of England, killing some of the people on board.
“It is understood that a migrant boat that sank in the Channel resulted in fatalities. “The authorities have not yet confirmed this,” the local reporter for the BBC wrote on Twitter.
The Ministry of Defense’s spokesperson confirmed the ongoing nature of the incident. Lifeboats, rescue teams, and helicopters were dispatched to “an incident involving a small boat off Kent” according to the Coastguard Agency, which claimed to be coordinating the response.

In some parts of Britain, snow has fallen as temperatures have plummeted. A nearby town recorded a temperature of 2 degrees Celsius.
Migrants from France to Britain travel frequently across the Channel in inflatable dinghies and other small boats.
This year, that route saw a record number of more than 40,000 people arrive.
The worst recorded accident of its kind in the Channel occurred in November 2021 when 27 people attempted to cross the channel in an inflatable dinghy. “The incident is ongoing and we have no further information,” the Coastguard Agency stated.
