Investing.com — U.S. stocks are trading higher Tuesday, with the Nasdaq the biggest gainer at +1.88%. Here are the midday movers on Tuesday, April 19th.
Checkmate Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:CMPI) stock has soared on news it will be acquired by Regeneron (NASDAQ:REGN) for $10.50 per share in cash. The deal has a total value of approximately $250 million. Checkmate stock has jumped 333.5% to $10.44 following the news.
Plug Power Inc (NASDAQ:PLUG) has gained 9.43% after it revealed it has agreed on a liquid green hydrogen delivery deal with Walmart (NYSE:WMT) to fuel up to 9,500 lift trucks across Walmart distribution and fulfillment centers
Zendesk Inc (NYSE:ZEN) is trading 6.8% higher midday after Bloomberg reported that the company is exploring a possible sale. According to Bloomberg, Zendesk has hired adviser Qatalyst Partners to assist.
WeWork Inc (NYSE:WE) has rallied 9.6% after the provider of coworking spaces was initiated with an “Overweight” at Piper Sandler. Piper Sandler is confident in WeWork’s path to profitability and the appeal of the company’s workstation business model in a post-Covid world.
Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) is up 3.3% after it reported earnings. Earnings per share of $2.67 beat analyst estimates by 11 cents. However, revenue came in slightly below forecasts at $23.43 billion. The drugmaker also suspended its sales forecast for its Covid-19 vaccine due to global supply surplus and demand uncertainty.
American Campus Communities Inc (NYSE:ACC) has jumped 12.6% after the student housing real estate investment trust announced it will be acquired by Blackstone (NYSE:BX) for $12.8 billion, including debt.
