Mass layoffs in companies-CNN reports
Budrigannews.com – According to an email seen by Reuters, CNN’s top boss Chris Licht, who is owned by Warner Bros. Discovery, informed employees of layoffs in an all-staff memo on Wednesday.
According to the memo, Licht stated that CNN would notify a select few individuals on Wednesday, primarily some of its paid contributors, and the affected employees on Thursday.
He would respond on Thursday afternoon with additional information regarding the changes.
Licht wrote, “I know these changes affect our departing colleagues as well as those who remain.”Additionally, we have resources to assist you.
Companies are looking to cut costs and reduce staff to prepare for a slowdown in the economy, so the job cuts were anticipated.
Licht had said in October that CNN would be changing things because of “widespread concern over the global economic outlook.”Licht had stated that the changes would affect “people, budgets, and projects.”
AMC Networks, a provider of cable channels (NASDAQ:) on Tuesday announced that it would reduce the number of employees in the United States by 20% in response to industry pressures and the challenging economy.
