Budrigannews.com – A joint statement released on Friday said that the United States, the United Kingdom, Norway, and the European Union were horrified by the increase in violence in the Upper Nile state of South Sudan and urged the delivery of humanitarian aid.

The joint statement, which was released by the U.S. State Department, stated that reports of murder, destruction of property, and sexual violence “are horrifying and cannot go unaddressed.”

The statement continued, “We call on all South Sudanese authorities to allow and facilitate the safe access and delivery of humanitarian assistance to Upper Nile and Jonglei State, as well as in other conflict areas in the country and to the over 9.4 million people in need of assistance across South Sudan.”
