Kudrin will become an adviser to the Russian Yandex
Budrigannews.com – Last week, Alexei Kudrin resigned from his position as head of Russia’s Audit Chamber. On Monday, he announced that he had accepted an offer from the technology conglomerate Yandex (NASDAQ:) to become a consultant for the growth of the company.
Last month, Yandex said that it was looking into a possible major governance overhaul that would give new ownership to its major Russian business units.Reuters was told by sources that President Vladimir Putin and Kudrin had been talking about moving to Yandex.
Kudrin wrote on his Telegram channel, “I will develop the corporate structure of the new holding company, together with the management team, which will ensure the company’s long-term and sustainable development in all markets, including international ones.”
According to Kudrin, “one of the main tasks is to help preserve Yandex’s unique management and technological culture, so that it remains independent and the best IT company in Russia, where the most talented people strive to work.”
Kudrin’s employment with Yandex was confirmed by the company.
Kudrin, who has been in public service for roughly 25 years, served as finance minister for more than a decade between 2000 and 2011. In his current position as head of the Audit Chamber, Russia’s watchdog for public spending, Kudrin kept a relatively low profile despite maintaining close ties with Putin.
