Jill Biden faces a difficult operation

Budrigannews.com – According to the White House, First Lady Jill Biden traveled to a military hospital on Wednesday with President Joe Biden for surgery to remove a lesion discovered during a routine skin cancer screening.
President Kevin O’Connor announced in a statement last week that the first lady would undergo an outpatient procedure to have the small lesion above her right eye removed.
O’Connor stated, “Doctors have recommended it be removed in an abundance of caution.”
At the Walter Reed National Military Center in suburban Bethesda, Maryland, the procedure was scheduled to take place. President Biden went to the hospital with his 71-year-old wife.
In his statement, O’Connor said that the first lady would have Mohs surgery, a common procedure for removing and thoroughly examining the tissue.
According to the Mayo Clinic’s website, Mohs surgery involves carefully examining each layer of skin for signs of cancer before cutting away thin layers. Until there are no signs of cancer, the process continues.
“Mohs surgery aims to remove all skin cancer without causing harm to the healthy skin that surrounds it. The Mohs procedure enables the surgeon to ensure that all cancer has been removed. The likelihood of curing the cancer is increased as a result. The Mayo Clinic stated, “It reduces the need for additional surgery or other treatments.”
