JetBlue boosts Q3 revenue forecast on strong summer demand

(Reuters) -JetBlue Airways boosted its third-quarter revenue forecast on Thursday, owing to strong travel demand during the summer season, sending its shares nearly 7% higher in premarket trading.
The carrier benefited from improved ticket bookings in Latin America and from gains from its previously announced $300 million worth of revenue initiatives, it said.
It also recognized a boost to its revenue from re-accomodation of travelers affected by the global cyber outage in July that forced multiple airlines to halt flights.
The carrier now expects revenue in the range of a 2.5% fall to a 1% growth year-on-year in the July-September quarter. The company had earlier forecast revenue to fall in the 1.5% to 5.5% range.
