Japan, US, Netherlands united against China
Budrigannews.com – Bloomberg News reported on Monday, citing people familiar with the situation, that Japan and the Netherlands have agreed in principle to join the United States in tightening controls on the export of advanced chip-making machinery to China.
The Biden administration released a set of restrictions in October with the intention of preventing the export of chip-making technology and certain chips made with U.S. equipment to China from anywhere in the world.

Japan’s Tokyo Electron Ltd. and the Dutch lithography specialist ASML Holding (NASDAQ:) are the only gear suppliers outside of the United States. According to the report, NV and NV were the two essential players required to make the sanctions work, making their governments’ adoption of the curbs a significant milestone.
The report says that the new curbs might be announced in the next few weeks.
A spokesperson from the Dutch foreign affairs ministry declined to comment, and the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry in Japan did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.
