Japan stocks lower at close of trade; Nikkei 225 down 0.47%
Investing.com – Japan stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Services, Pharmaceutical Industry and Warehousing sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 lost 0.47%.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Inpex Corp. (TYO:1605), which rose 3.01% or 45.00 points to trade at 1,538.00 at the close. Meanwhile, JGC Corp. (TYO:1963) added 2.96% or 53.00 points to end at 1,845.00 and Daiichi Sankyo Co., Ltd. (TYO:4568) was up 2.75% or 109.00 points to 4,074.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hino Motors, Ltd. (TYO:7205), which fell 3.53% or 23.00 points to trade at 629.00 at the close. CyberAgent Inc (TYO:4751) declined 3.21% or 47.00 points to end at 1,419.00 and Nippon Sheet Glass Co., Ltd. (TYO:5202) was down 2.76% or 15.00 points to 528.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2063 to 1452 and 279 ended unchanged.
Shares in Hino Motors, Ltd. (TYO:7205) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.53% or 23.00 to 629.00.
The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was down 3.21% to 18.11 a new 6-months low.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.40% or 1.27 to $89.17 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.36% or 1.32 to hit $95.40 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.66% or 11.65 to trade at $1,751.25 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.01% to 136.95, while EUR/JPY fell 0.19% to 137.13.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 108.25.
