Investing.com – Japan stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Tokyo, the declined 0.46%.
The best performers of the session on the were Hino Motors, Ltd. (TYO:), which rose 3.16% or 18.70 points to trade at 611.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Panasonic Corp (TYO:) added 2.99% or 50.50 points to end at 1,738.00 and Minebea Mitsumi Inc (TYO:) was up 2.77% or 71.00 points to 2,634.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Advantest Corp. (TYO:), which fell 5.79% or 1,215.00 points to trade at 19,775.00 at the close. Tokyo Electron Ltd. (TYO:) declined 5.62% or 1,150.00 points to end at 19,300.00 and Dainippon Screen Mfg. Co., Ltd. (TYO:) was down 4.87% or 760.00 points to 14,840.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2086 to 1460 and 295 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was up 0.96% to 20.01.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.98% or 0.74 to $76.39 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.94% or 0.75 to hit $80.39 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.05% or 1.05 to trade at $1,969.85 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.60% to 140.91, while EUR/JPY rose 0.62% to 156.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 100.61.
