Japan July household spending edges up 0.1% y/y

TOKYO (Reuters) – Japanese household spending edged up 0.1% in July from a year earlier, government data showed on Friday.

That compared with the median market forecast for a 1.2% growth.

On a seasonally adjusted, month-on-month basis, spending went down 1.7%, versus an estimated 0.2% drop.
