Japan has signed LNG supply contract with Venture Global
Budrigannews.com – The largest oil and gas explorer in Japan, Inpex Corp., announced on Tuesday that it had entered into a long-term agreement with Venture Global LNG, which is based in the United States, to sell and purchase LNG.
In a statement, Inpex said that as part of the agreement, it will buy one million tonnes per year (mtpa) of LNG free-on-board for 20 years.
The agreement was signed by Venture Global CP2 LNG LLC and INPEX Energy Trading Singapore Pte Ltd (IETS), the two companies’ subsidiaries.
According to Inpex’s statement, IETS will acquire the LNG from Venture Global LNG’s CP2 LNG project in Louisiana, which is anticipated to begin construction in 2023.
