Italy CPI rose to 13%, new records
Budrigannews.com – Italy’s EU Harmonized Consumer Price Index (HICP) rose 3.8 percent in March and 12.6 percent from a year earlier, the Official Statistics Office ISTAT said on Wednesday, reviewing preliminary data.
Preliminary figures were 4.0% M/M and 12.8% YEAR-ON-YEAR.
The 10-month annual rate of +12.6% was higher than the 9-month annual rate of +9.4%.
The main domestic price index (NIC (NASDAQ:)) rose 3.4% in January and grew by 11.8% annually, its highest level since 1984, accelerating from an annual increase of 8.9% in March.
Core inflation (perishable food and net energy) was above the +5.7% of the previous month and stood at +5.3% in the HICP index for the month.
