Iran’s leader calls for reforms amid protests-Media
Budrigannews.com -State media reported that on Tuesday, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, called for a “revolutionary reconstruction of the country’s cultural system,” as nationwide protests continued to exert pressure on the authorities.
During his meeting with a state cultural council, Khamenei stated, “It is necessary to revolutionize the country’s cultural structure… the supreme council should observe the weaknesses of culture in different fields of the country.”
Since the Kurdish woman Mahsa Amini’s death on September 16 while being detained by police for wearing “inappropriate Islamic attire,” Iran has been rocked by unrest.
Since the revolution in 1979, the demonstrations have been one of the most significant challenges to the Islamic Republic.
