iPhone production in China stopped
Budrigannews.com – After videos of thousands of workers confronting security and police at China’s largest iPhone factory were circulated online, Apple may face additional supply challenges.
According to BBC, videos showed confrontations between factory workers and riot police, and one of the live streamers claimed that police used excessive force. The conflicts arose after Foxconn, Apple’s greatest provider and administrator of the processing plant in the city of Zhengzhou, secured the site to agree with China’s severe Coronavirus measures.
On the internet, there were rumors that some workers had left the factory and gone home, while others had live-streamed their complaints about the living and working conditions at the plant.
We were unable to receive the promised subsidy because they altered the contract.
According to the BBC, one Foxconn employee stated during his live stream, “They quarantine us but don’t give us food.”
Foxconn offered new employees higher salaries and bonuses in an effort to entice them to stay with the company.
The new developments come after Apple issued a warning earlier this month that the disruption to production in Zhengzhou would result in longer lead times for high-end iPhone 14 models for its customers.
The following day, Bloomberg News reported that issues with the supply chain led Apple to reduce the anticipated production of 3 million iPhone 14s this year.
