Budrigannews.com – According to preliminary data released on Tuesday by the National Statistics Institute (INE), Spain’s consumer prices increased by 6.8% in the 12 months to November, which was lower than the 7.3% increase in the 12 months to October.
The number was lower than the 7.4% forecast by Reuters-surveyed analysts, making it the lowest since January.
The INE data showed that core inflation, which excludes volatile prices for fresh food and energy, was 6.3% in comparison to 6.2% in October.
The European Union-harmonised 12-month inflation rate for Spain was 6.6%, which was lower than the 7.3% expected by analysts polled by Reuters and was below the 7.5% threshold.
