India stocks higher at close of trade; Nifty 50 up 2.58%
Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Real Estate, Banking and Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 gained 2.58%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index climbed 2.70%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Bajaj Finserv Ltd (NS:BJFS), which rose 5.44% or 875.75 points to trade at 16,962.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Bajaj Finance Ltd (NS:BJFN) added 4.91% or 341.90 points to end at 7,306.25 and IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NS:INBK) was up 4.56% or 48.25 points to 1,107.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tata Consumer Products Ltd (NS:TACN), which rose 0.42% or 3.35 points to trade at 809.50 at the close. Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (NS:REDY) added 0.53% or 22.40 points to end at 4,232.55 and Grasim Industries Ltd (NS:GRAS) was up 0.66% or 10.95 points to 1,675.00.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Bajaj Finserv Ltd (BO:BJFS) which rose 5.47% to 16,966.70, Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:BJFN) which was up 4.86% to settle at 7,303.80 and IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:INBK) which gained 4.38% to close at 1,106.95.
The worst performers were Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:BRTI) which was up 0.78% to 726.50 in late trade, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (BO:REDY) which gained 0.86% to settle at 4,244.60 and Nestle India Ltd (BO:NEST) which was up 1.03% to 19,839.00 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1364 to 454 and 63 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2274 rose and 1009 declined, while 124 ended unchanged.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 5.66% to 18.70.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.27% or 4.70 to $1,745.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.20% or 2.13 to hit $94.88 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.15% or 2.21 to trade at $100.72 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.59% to 79.53, while EUR/INR fell 0.18% to 79.77.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 108.45.
