Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the added 0.75% to hit a new all time high, while the index added 0.80%.
The best performers of the session on the were State Bank Of India (NS:), which rose 2.99% or 17.50 points to trade at 601.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Wipro Ltd (NS:) added 2.68% or 10.85 points to end at 415.90 and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (NS:) was up 2.52% or 128.25 points to 5,220.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (NS:), which fell 1.68% or 2.85 points to trade at 166.40 at the close. Hero MotoCorp Ltd (NS:) declined 1.35% or 42.30 points to end at 3,094.00 and Titan Company Ltd (NS:) was down 1.16% or 35.55 points to 3,020.00.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were State Bank Of India (BO:) which rose 2.81% to 600.90, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (BO:) which was up 2.77% to settle at 5,231.10 and Wipro Ltd (BO:) which gained 2.54% to close at 415.25.
The worst performers were Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:) which was down 0.89% to 878.65 in late trade, Titan Company Ltd (BO:) which lost 0.70% to settle at 3,034.00 and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (BO:) which was down 0.66% to 1,536.25 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1196 to 805 and 67 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1971 rose and 1576 declined, while 181 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 5.92% to 11.31.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.17% or 3.40 to $1,961.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.49% or 1.12 to hit $74.20 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.48% or 1.18 to trade at $78.69 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.02% to 82.06, while EUR/INR rose 0.02% to 92.19.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 99.53.
