Budrigannews.com – The International Monetary Fund will conduct a formal assessment of Zambia’s situation in the spring of next year and has urged it to reach a debt restructuring agreement with its international creditors as soon as possible.

IMF mission chief Allison Holland referred to “the authorities’ promising progress in meeting key commitments under the (current) Fund-supported programme” at the conclusion of a visit to the nation.

Holland continued, “It is essential to secure the expected benefits of the Fund-supported programme by achieving timely restructuring agreements with external creditors.”
