PALO ALTO, Calif. – Hesai Technology (NASDAQ:HSAI), a leader in lidar technology, today announced the release of its AT512 ADAS lidar, which boasts the longest range and highest resolution in the industry. Alongside, the company revealed the ET25, an ultra-thin lidar designed for integration behind vehicle windshields, and the completion of its new “Maxwell” Innovation Center, a combined R&D and manufacturing facility.
The AT512 lidar is a compact unit that promises to enhance Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) by providing highly detailed 3D environmental scans. It offers a maximum range of over 400 meters and a point-rate of 12,300,000 points per second, creating the most detailed point cloud available from a lidar manufacturer. Its design measures 160x100x45mm and includes a 120-degree horizontal and a 25.6-degree vertical field of view.
David Li, Co-founder and CEO of Hesai, stated that the AT512 represents a significant advancement in lidar technology, citing improvements in range, resolution, and other key performance areas. Li also highlighted the shift from traditional 1550 nanometer laser-based lidar to more advanced 905 nanometer technology.
In addition to the AT512, Hesai introduced the ET25 lidar, an award-winning product recognized for its innovative design, which allows for easy vehicle integration. The ET25 offers a range of 250 meters at 10% reflectivity and is expected to enter production in Q1 of 2025.
Hesai’s new Maxwell Innovation Center, named after physicist James Maxwell, spans 740,000 square feet and features advanced lidar testing labs and smart industrial robots. The facility aims to automate over 100 production processes with a high automation rate and a 45-second cycle time per lidar unit. The company’s smart cloud manufacturing execution system (MES) enables precise tracking of the production chain.
The announcements follow Hesai’s recent contract win for a lidar design with a global OEM and a record delivery of 50,000 units in December, contributing to over 300,000 units delivered in total. Hesai’s automotive lidar technology has been selected by 15 leading OEMs and tier-1 suppliers for over 50 series production models.
