Germany stocks were lower after the close on Thursday

Budrigannews.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Insurance, Construction and Consumer & Cyclical sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 1.86%, while the MDAX index lost 1.95%, and the TecDAX index declined 1.70%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which rose 0.75% or 0.19 points to trade at 25.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Siemens AG Class N (ETR:SIEGn) fell 0.26% or 0.25 points to end at 95.86 and Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR:BMWG) was down 0.33% or 0.24 points to 72.22 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN), which fell 4.04% or 6.50 points to trade at 154.44 at the close. Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG) declined 3.77% or 2.46 points to end at 62.80 and Allianz SE VNA O.N. (ETR:ALVG) was down 3.43% or 6.04 points to 169.94.
The top performers on the MDAX were Fraport AG (ETR:FRAG) which rose 3.00% to 40.81, Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) which was up 2.36% to settle at 55.60 and Rational AG (ETR:RAAG) which gained 1.78% to close at 630.50.
The worst performers were K&S AG (ETR:SDFGn) which was down 7.68% to 19.18 in late trade, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which lost 6.96% to settle at 54.82 and Uniper SE (ETR:UN01) which was down 6.45% to 8.85 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 1.15% to 24.67, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was up 0.99% to settle at 127.25 and Vantage Towers AG (ETR:VTWRn) which gained 0.58% to close at 27.80.
The worst performers were Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was down 6.96% to 54.82 in late trade, Varta AG (ETR:VAR1) which lost 5.59% to settle at 73.00 and Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which was down 5.23% to 46.74 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 529 to 146 and 93 ended unchanged.
Shares in Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN) fell to 5-year lows; losing 4.04% or 6.50 to 154.44. Shares in Allianz SE VNA O.N. (ETR:ALVG) fell to 52-week lows; falling 3.43% or 6.04 to 169.94. Shares in Uniper SE (ETR:UN01) fell to all time lows; down 6.45% or 0.61 to 8.85. Shares in Varta AG (ETR:VAR1) fell to 52-week lows; losing 5.59% or 4.32 to 73.00.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 5.90% to 33.56 a new 1-month high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.74% or 30.20 to $1,705.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.59% or 1.53 to hit $94.77 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.51% or 1.50 to trade at $98.07 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.66% to 1.00, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.28% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.91% at 108.74.
