Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX up 1.46%
Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the Media, Utilities and Insurance sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Retail and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 1.46%, while the MDAX index gained 1.43%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.16%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (DE:FREG), which rose 4.58% or 1.53 points to trade at 34.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) added 3.89% or 0.44 points to end at 11.84 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG) was up 3.83% or 2.34 points to 63.44 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG), which fell 4.43% or 1.85 points to trade at 39.91 at the close. Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) declined 4.09% or 16.50 points to end at 387.20 and Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) was down 3.38% or 1.44 points to 41.18.
The top performers on the MDAX were Scout24 AG (DE:G24n) which rose 13.67% to 59.52, K&S AG (DE:SDFGn) which was up 8.93% to settle at 32.28 and CTS Eventim AG (DE:EVDG) which gained 7.54% to close at 64.90.
The worst performers were Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which was down 5.80% to 19.50 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which lost 1.74% to settle at 27.75 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which was down 1.73% to 86.36 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (DE:VBKG) which rose 9.13% to 85.50, Suse SA (DE:SUSEG) which was up 4.70% to settle at 31.20 and Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which gained 2.38% to close at 16.97.
The worst performers were Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which was down 5.80% to 19.50 in late trade, S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which lost 4.32% to settle at 17.04 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was down 4.09% to 387.20 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 492 to 195 and 79 ended unchanged.
Shares in K&S AG (DE:SDFGn) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 8.93% or 2.64 to 32.28. Shares in Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (DE:VBKG) rose to all time highs; gaining 9.13% or 7.15 to 85.50.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.00% to 29.66.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.11% or 2.20 to $1,940.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.70% or 0.67 to hit $96.70 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.61% or 0.61 to trade at $101.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.30% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 99.87.
