Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX down 0.07%
Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Food & Beverages and Transportation & Logistics sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Financial Services and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.07%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.18%, and the TecDAX index added 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG), which rose 3.91% or 2.48 points to trade at 65.98 at the close. Meanwhile, HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) added 3.37% or 1.28 points to end at 39.22 and Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe) was up 3.26% or 0.77 points to 24.52 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG), which fell 3.74% or 7.00 points to trade at 179.95 at the close. Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn) declined 2.70% or 4.55 points to end at 163.80 and Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) was down 2.00% or 0.80 points to 39.13.
The top performers on the MDAX were Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (ETR:JUNG_p) which rose 3.87% to 24.16, Duerr AG (ETR:DUEG) which was up 2.81% to settle at 24.86 and Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) which gained 2.81% to close at 19.56.
The worst performers were Hypoport AG (ETR:HYQGn) which was down 9.83% to 319.20 in late trade, K&S AG (ETR:SDFGn) which lost 3.39% to settle at 34.16 and Grand City Properties SA (ETR:GYC) which was down 2.18% to 17.51 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which rose 3.38% to 16.51, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which was up 3.07% to settle at 27.68 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which gained 2.71% to close at 23.12.
The worst performers were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which was down 1.91% to 374.80 in late trade, Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which lost 1.86% to settle at 23.68 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which was down 1.62% to 54.75 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 356 to 339 and 74 ended unchanged.
Shares in Hypoport AG (ETR:HYQGn) fell to 52-week lows; down 9.83% or 34.80 to 319.20.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 3.61% to 26.08.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.36% or 27.00 to $1,959.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 4.96% or 5.34 to hit $102.27 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 5.10% or 5.77 to trade at $107.39 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.19% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.22% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 100.89.
