Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 1.16%
Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Retail, Construction and Software sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 1.16%, while the MDAX index lost 0.98%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.95%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Beiersdorf AG O.N. (ETR:BEIG), which rose 0.69% or 0.68 points to trade at 98.76 at the close. Meanwhile, Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (ETR:HNKG_p) added 0.62% or 0.38 points to end at 61.64 and Airbus Group SE (ETR:AIRG) was up 0.60% or 0.60 points to 101.26 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mercedes Benz Group AG (ETR:MBGn), which fell 4.59% or 2.48 points to trade at 51.52 at the close. Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) declined 3.95% or 1.04 points to end at 25.26 and Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG) was down 2.84% or 0.80 points to 27.40.
The top performers on the MDAX were Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which rose 3.10% to 59.85, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was up 2.35% to settle at 24.39 and Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which gained 2.32% to close at 9.27.
The worst performers were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 4.35% to 37.39 in late trade, Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which lost 3.47% to settle at 37.26 and Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which was down 2.81% to 41.09 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 2.35% to 24.39, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was up 1.36% to settle at 24.54 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which gained 0.15% to close at 68.55.
The worst performers were Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which was down 6.18% to 100.20 in late trade, Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which lost 3.47% to settle at 37.26 and Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which was down 2.53% to 49.32 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 486 to 189 and 89 ended unchanged.
Shares in Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) fell to 52-week lows; falling 6.18% or 6.60 to 100.20.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.32% to 31.69.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.78% or 13.40 to $1,738.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.19% or 0.18 to hit $96.02 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.18% or 0.18 to trade at $99.31 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.48% to 1.01, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 107.55.
