Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 1.13%
Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Construction, Technology and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 1.13%, while the MDAX index lost 1.90%, and the TecDAX index fell 2.14%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG), which rose 3.50% or 1.42 points to trade at 42.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) added 1.89% or 0.64 points to end at 34.48 and Covestro AG (ETR:1COV) was up 0.29% or 0.12 points to 41.41 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mercedes Benz Group AG (ETR:MBGn), which fell 7.27% or 4.88 points to trade at 62.22 at the close. BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN) declined 5.90% or 2.97 points to end at 47.44 and Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) was down 5.45% or 2.07 points to 35.93.
The top performers on the MDAX were Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which rose 2.50% to 155.95, Hypoport AG (ETR:HYQGn) which was up 2.26% to settle at 271.00 and Lanxess AG (ETR:LXSG) which gained 1.08% to close at 37.49.
The worst performers were Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was down 7.32% to 70.70 in late trade, Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) which lost 6.73% to settle at 17.19 and Varta AG (ETR:VAR1) which was down 5.52% to 84.82 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were S&T AG (ETR:SANT1) which rose 1.11% to 16.38, Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which was up 0.99% to settle at 20.50 and Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which gained 0.53% to close at 26.45.
The worst performers were Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was down 7.32% to 70.70 in late trade, Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which lost 6.38% to settle at 126.20 and Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which was down 6.12% to 63.65 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 547 to 163 and 55 ended unchanged.
Shares in BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN) fell to 52-week lows; losing 5.90% or 2.97 to 47.44. Shares in Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) fell to 3-years lows; losing 5.45% or 2.07 to 35.93. Shares in Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) fell to all time lows; down 6.73% or 1.24 to 17.19.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 12.95% to 33.66 a new 1-month high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 2.47% or 47.15 to $1,864.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.19% or 0.20 to hit $104.89 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.21% or 0.23 to trade at $107.37 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.35% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.29% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.69% at 103.67.
