Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 1.10%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the fell 1.10%, while the index lost 0.41%, and the index lost 1.27%.

The best performers of the session on the were Merck KGaA (ETR:), which rose 1.19% or 1.90 points to trade at 161.95 at the close. Meanwhile, E.ON SE (ETR:) added 1.05% or 0.12 points to end at 11.11 and Beiersdorf AG O.N. (ETR:) was up 0.97% or 1.15 points to 119.65 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:), which fell 3.84% or 0.39 points to trade at 9.71 at the close. Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:) declined 3.34% or 0.34 points to end at 9.96 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:) was down 3.23% or 1.12 points to 33.52.

The top performers on the MDAX were Gerresheimer AG (ETR:) which rose 10.67% to 114.10, Fraport AG (ETR:) which was up 7.53% to settle at 48.97 and Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:) which gained 1.90% to close at 112.90.

The worst performers were Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:) which was down 2.92% to 1.78 in late trade, Knorr-Bremse AG (ETR:) which lost 2.73% to settle at 62.00 and Kion Group AG (ETR:) which was down 2.28% to 36.78 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were United Internet AG NA (ETR:) which rose 1.59% to 16.00, Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:) which was up 1.18% to settle at 27.35 and Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:) which gained 1.08% to close at 24.26.

The worst performers were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:) which was down 3.23% to 33.52 in late trade, Kontron AG (ETR:) which lost 3.17% to settle at 19.87 and Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:) which was down 3.10% to 42.56 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 429 to 222 and 91 ended unchanged.

Shares in Gerresheimer AG (ETR:) rose to all time highs; rising 10.67% or 11.00 to 114.10. Shares in Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:) fell to all time lows; falling 2.92% or 0.05 to 1.78.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 4.33% to 18.78.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.58% or 11.35 to $1,958.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.34% or 0.28 to hit $82.22 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.28% or 0.24 to trade at $85.58 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.46% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.09% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.53% at 102.40.
