Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 0.66%
Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Construction, Retail and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.66%, while the MDAX index declined 0.49%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.35%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG), which rose 1.85% or 0.76 points to trade at 41.76 at the close. Meanwhile, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) added 1.13% or 4.20 points to end at 374.50 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG) was up 1.01% or 0.54 points to 54.16 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which fell 4.84% or 1.77 points to trade at 34.83 at the close. HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) declined 2.49% or 0.91 points to end at 35.66 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) was down 2.19% or 0.64 points to 28.65.
The top performers on the MDAX were Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) which rose 2.81% to 212.10, CTS Eventim AG (ETR:EVDG) which was up 1.19% to settle at 59.65 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which gained 1.15% to close at 9.11.
The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which was down 4.34% to 12.77 in late trade, Hypoport AG (ETR:HYQGn) which lost 3.49% to settle at 249.20 and United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which was down 2.72% to 29.67 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which rose 1.28% to 20.20, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which was up 1.13% to settle at 374.50 and Varta AG (ETR:VAR1) which gained 0.93% to close at 86.60.
The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which was down 4.34% to 12.77 in late trade, United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which lost 2.72% to settle at 29.67 and Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which was down 2.55% to 51.60 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 459 to 210 and 95 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.55% to 22.13.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.44% or 8.10 to $1,851.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.80% or 0.95 to hit $117.55 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.50% or 0.60 to trade at $118.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.03% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.39% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 102.40.
