Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the lost 0.63%, while the index lost 1.40%, and the index declined 0.81%.
The best performers of the session on the were Continental AG O.N. (ETR:), which rose 3.39% or 2.26 points to trade at 68.92 at the close. Meanwhile, Airbus Group SE (ETR:) added 1.19% or 1.56 points to end at 132.88 and Mercedes Benz Group AG (ETR:) was up 1.13% or 0.82 points to 73.57 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:), which fell 5.64% or 0.90 points to trade at 15.15 at the close. Allianz SE VNA O.N. (ETR:) declined 2.65% or 5.65 points to end at 207.55 and Adidas AG (ETR:) was down 2.36% or 4.22 points to 174.42.
The top performers on the MDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:) which rose 2.72% to 20.79, Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (ETR:) which was up 1.69% to settle at 72.40 and Duerr AG (ETR:) which gained 0.85% to close at 28.42.
The worst performers were Aixtron SE (ETR:) which was down 6.51% to 29.03 in late trade, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:) which lost 5.45% to settle at 41.56 and Encavis AG (ETR:) which was down 4.10% to 14.28 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:) which rose 2.72% to 20.79, Qiagen NV (ETR:) which was up 1.07% to settle at 41.50 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:) which gained 0.71% to close at 99.90.
The worst performers were Aixtron SE (ETR:) which was down 6.51% to 29.03 in late trade, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:) which lost 3.94% to settle at 63.84 and Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:) which was down 3.79% to 26.90 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 426 to 244 and 74 ended unchanged.
Shares in Airbus Group SE (ETR:) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 1.19% or 1.56 to 132.88. Shares in Encavis AG (ETR:) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.10% or 0.61 to 14.28.
The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 7.82% to 15.17.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.14% or 2.65 to $1,926.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.87% or 2.00 to hit $71.79 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.41% or 0.31 to trade at $76.56 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.15% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 102.93.
