Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 0.52%
Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Construction, Technology and Retail sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.52%, while the MDAX index lost 0.73%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.23%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (DE:SY1G), which rose 2.37% or 2.65 points to trade at 114.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (DE:DPWGn) added 1.86% or 0.74 points to end at 40.21 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) was up 1.13% or 4.50 points to 403.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER), which fell 5.16% or 2.32 points to trade at 42.62 at the close. MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) declined 3.39% or 6.60 points to end at 188.20 and Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) was down 2.45% or 1.02 points to 40.69.
The top performers on the MDAX were Gerresheimer AG (DE:GXIG) which rose 5.40% to 71.20, Aurubis AG (DE:NAFG) which was up 2.75% to settle at 104.70 and GEA Group AG (DE:G1AG) which gained 2.61% to close at 37.00.
The worst performers were Deutsche Wohnen AG (DE:DWNG) which was down 3.89% to 28.88 in late trade, Siemens Energy AG (DE:ENR1n) which lost 3.06% to settle at 19.17 and Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (DE:PSMGn) which was down 2.93% to 10.94 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (DE:VBKG) which rose 5.59% to 78.35, Suse SA (DE:SUSEG) which was up 2.41% to settle at 29.80 and Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which gained 1.77% to close at 28.24.
The worst performers were Nagarro SE (DE:NA9n) which was down 2.97% to 137.40 in late trade, Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) which lost 2.84% to settle at 23.94 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) which was down 2.10% to 27.56 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 402 to 273 and 92 ended unchanged.
Shares in Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.45% or 1.02 to 40.69. Shares in Deutsche Wohnen AG (DE:DWNG) fell to 52-week lows; falling 3.89% or 1.17 to 28.88. Shares in Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (DE:VBKG) rose to all time highs; gaining 5.59% or 4.15 to 78.35.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 0.10% to 31.22.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.64% or 12.40 to $1,935.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.58% or 0.56 to hit $95.67 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.78% or 0.79 to trade at $100.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.08% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 99.74.
