Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 0.49%
Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Retail, Construction and Software sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.49%, while the MDAX index lost 0.79%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.63%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG), which rose 3.81% or 1.49 points to trade at 40.57 at the close. Meanwhile, BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN) added 3.23% or 1.53 points to end at 49.04 and Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG) was up 3.14% or 1.07 points to 35.13 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG), which fell 10.12% or 4.30 points to trade at 38.20 at the close. Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) declined 6.44% or 2.31 points to end at 33.58 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG) was down 3.97% or 2.40 points to 58.00.
The top performers on the MDAX were TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which rose 8.11% to 12.66, Lanxess AG (ETR:LXSG) which was up 3.62% to settle at 38.08 and Evonik Industries AG (ETR:EVKn) which gained 2.19% to close at 25.70.
The worst performers were Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which was down 16.32% to 37.54 in late trade, Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) which lost 4.18% to settle at 213.10 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR:LHAG) which was down 3.48% to 7.10 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which rose 8.11% to 12.66, Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) which was up 3.09% to settle at 51.98 and Software AG (ETR:SOWGn) which gained 1.51% to close at 29.52.
The worst performers were Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which was down 16.32% to 37.54 in late trade, Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which lost 4.23% to settle at 19.46 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which was down 3.74% to 337.20 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 437 to 240 and 86 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.52% to 30.50.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.16% or 2.95 to $1,867.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 5.14% or 5.26 to hit $107.67 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 4.70% or 4.93 to trade at $109.90 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.22% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.28% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 103.38.
