Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 1.52%
Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Retail, Transportation & Logistics and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 1.52% to hit a new 1-month high, while the MDAX index climbed 2.01%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.85%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which rose 6.54% or 1.68 points to trade at 27.35 at the close. Meanwhile, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) added 4.19% or 17.50 points to end at 435.50 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) was up 3.51% or 0.90 points to 26.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG), which fell 3.39% or 1.27 points to trade at 36.16 at the close. Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) declined 0.79% or 0.52 points to end at 65.62 and MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn) was down 0.71% or 1.35 points to 188.10.
The top performers on the MDAX were Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which rose 8.41% to 44.35, Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (ETR:JUNG_p) which was up 7.56% to settle at 26.46 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which gained 6.25% to close at 79.10.
The worst performers were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 4.16% to 25.13 in late trade, Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) which lost 2.67% to settle at 178.85 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 1.90% to 25.30 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which rose 6.25% to 79.10, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was up 5.73% to settle at 65.00 and Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which gained 4.92% to close at 33.28.
The worst performers were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 4.16% to 25.13 in late trade, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which lost 2.15% to settle at 25.00 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 1.90% to 25.30 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 504 to 189 and 73 ended unchanged.
Shares in Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG) fell to 5-year lows; down 3.39% or 1.27 to 36.16.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.34% to 23.81 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.62% or 10.85 to $1,761.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.97% or 2.86 to hit $99.28 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.41% or 2.45 to trade at $104.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.02, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.17% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 105.94.
