Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 1.01%
Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Retail, Chemicals and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 1.01%, while the MDAX index added 1.63%, and the TecDAX index climbed 1.59%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which rose 5.20% or 18.40 points to trade at 372.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) added 4.50% or 1.61 points to end at 37.37 and Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) was up 3.81% or 2.60 points to 70.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG), which fell 3.48% or 1.92 points to trade at 53.26 at the close. Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) declined 1.84% or 1.23 points to end at 65.51 and Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG) was down 1.43% or 0.45 points to 31.11.
The top performers on the MDAX were Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which rose 4.61% to 42.85, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was up 4.09% to settle at 127.25 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which gained 3.94% to close at 9.12.
The worst performers were Uniper SE (ETR:UN01) which was down 1.54% to 23.00 in late trade, Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR:LHAG) which lost 0.60% to settle at 6.77 and Deutsche Wohnen AG (ETR:DWNG) which was down 0.56% to 25.06 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which rose 5.20% to 372.00, Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which was up 4.61% to settle at 42.85 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which gained 4.09% to close at 127.25.
The worst performers were CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which was down 0.95% to 51.90 in late trade, Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) which lost 0.14% to settle at 19.09 and S&T AG (ETR:SANT1) which was unchanged 0.00% to 15.92 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 433 to 224 and 104 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 7.17% to 21.87 a new 3-months low.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.20% or 22.25 to $1,870.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.29% or 1.49 to hit $116.75 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.14% or 1.33 to trade at $117.62 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.88% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.21% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.68% at 101.83.
