Geological Survey Reports volcanic eruption in Hawaii

Budrigannews.com – According to the volcanic activity service of the U.S. Geological Survey, an eruption began on Sunday night in the summit caldera of Hawaii’s Mauna Loa, the largest active volcano in the world.
The notification stated, “At this time, lava flows are contained within the summit area and are not threatening downslope communities.”
The volcano alert level was raised to a “warning” from an “advisory.”
The notification also stated that aerial reconnaissance will be carried out by the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory in order to better assess the dangers and describe the eruption.
