E-Cite Motors, a privately owned subsidiary of VaporBrands (OTC:), revealed Wednesday that General Motors (NYSE:) would be responsible for producing crucial components for their upcoming electric sportscar, the EV-GT.
GM has designed and crafted several important components for the EV-GT, including specific suspension and safety features. These components are being made and put together at GM’s famous Bowling Green Assembly Plant and other GM facilities.
E-Cite COO Gene Langmesser said in a statement, “I have had a very long and successful relationship with General Motors throughout the years and we are very glad to be able to leverage their experience in engineering and manufacturing. This allows E-Cite to produce a safer vehicle, provides efficiencies, and ensures the availability of parts for production as well as for repairs and maintenance.”
E-Cite recently became the first vehicle manufacturer operating under the Low Volume Manufacturers Act to obtain approval from the California Air Resources Board (CARB). Approval from the board grants E-Cite the green light to proceed with the certification process, enabling them to manufacture and sell new electric vehicles across all 50 states in the US.
Shares of GM are down 4.41% in mid-day trading on Wednesday.
