Budrigannews.com – Chinese multinational automotive company, Geely (OTC:GELYF) (OTC:GELYY) reaffirmed its goal to complete more than 70,000 Zeekr-branded electric vehicle deliveries for 2022. The privately held EV maker is competing against growing competitive pressure and ongoing supply chain issues to ramp up production in hopes of catching rival EV maker BYD (OTC:BYDDY).
Geely’s CEO, Jerry Gan told Reuters that Sales of new energy vehicles (NEV), including pure electric and plug-in hybrids, will account for more than 30% of Geely’s monthly sales in the second half. Gan aims for Geely to increase the proportion of EVs in its total sales to 50% in 2023 as the company accelerates its transition to electrification.
President of Geely and CEO of Zeekr Intelligent Technology, An Conghui is confident that the company’s premium EV brand Zeeker could achieve the annual sales target of 70,000 units this year, despite COVID curbs.
The automaker debuted its first Zeekr-branded model 001 in April 2021 and reported deliveries of 19,013 crossovers in the first half of 2022.
