France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 2.75%
Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 2.75% to hit a new 1-month low, while the SBF 120 index declined 2.77%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI), which rose 2.13% or 0.29 points to trade at 13.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) added 1.93% or 0.43 points to end at 22.76 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) was up 0.59% or 0.07 points to 11.64 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF), which fell 4.87% or 2.46 points to trade at 48.13 at the close. Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) declined 4.78% or 1.79 points to end at 35.65 and Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) was down 4.44% or 1.76 points to 37.74.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Bollore SA (EPA:BOLL) which rose 2.25% to 4.55, Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which was up 2.13% to settle at 13.80 and Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) which gained 1.93% to close at 22.76.
The worst performers were Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which was down 11.09% to 44.01 in late trade, CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which lost 9.35% to settle at 0.95 and Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which was down 7.98% to 116.50 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 458 to 117 and 76 ended unchanged.
Shares in Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.13% or 0.29 to 13.80. Shares in Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 0.59% or 0.07 to 11.64. Shares in Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) rose to all time highs; rising 2.13% or 0.29 to 13.80.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.20% or 22.63 to $1,860.17 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 5.62% or 6.17 to hit $103.60 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 5.32% or 5.98 to trade at $106.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.22% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 103.62.
