France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 2.69%
Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Technology and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 2.69% to hit a new 1-month low, while the SBF 120 index lost 2.62%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI), which rose 1.19% or 0.17 points to trade at 14.68 at the close. Meanwhile, Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) fell 0.46% or 0.05 points to end at 10.80 and Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) was down 0.54% or 0.06 points to 10.98 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN), which fell 6.15% or 1.53 points to trade at 23.35 at the close. Credit Agricole SA (EPA:CAGR) declined 5.91% or 0.58 points to end at 9.23 and Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) was down 5.39% or 2.10 points to 36.85.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which rose 1.19% to 14.68, Eurazeo (EPA:EURA) which was up 0.57% to settle at 70.95 and Albioma SA (EPA:ABIO) which gained 0.41% to close at 49.46.
The worst performers were Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which was down 11.58% to 4.46 in late trade, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which lost 8.53% to settle at 21.12 and Valneva (EPA:VLS) which was down 6.53% to 10.45 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 447 to 107 and 88 ended unchanged.
Shares in Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) rose to all time highs; up 1.19% or 0.17 to 14.68. Shares in Credit Agricole SA (EPA:CAGR) fell to 52-week lows; losing 5.91% or 0.58 to 9.23. Shares in Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) rose to all time highs; up 1.19% or 0.17 to 14.68. Shares in Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) fell to 52-week lows; falling 11.58% or 0.58 to 4.46.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.23% or 22.75 to $1,875.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.15% or 1.40 to hit $120.11 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.19% or 1.47 to trade at $121.60 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.92% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.57% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.94% at 104.19.
