France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 1.68%
Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Healthcare and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 1.68%, while the SBF 120 index fell 1.66%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY), which rose 1.79% or 1.44 points to trade at 81.89 at the close. Meanwhile, Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) added 0.18% or 0.09 points to end at 49.37 and Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) was unchanged 0.02% or 0.00 points to 9.04 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which fell 4.34% or 2.34 points to trade at 51.57 at the close. Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) declined 3.71% or 51.50 points to end at 1,336.50 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) was down 3.54% or 10.60 points to 289.00.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which rose 3.39% to 44.50, Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) which was up 1.79% to settle at 81.89 and Metropole Television SA (EPA:MMTP) which gained 0.56% to close at 12.48.
The worst performers were Faurecia (EPA:EPED) which was down 4.92% to 14.03 in late trade, WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) which lost 4.34% to settle at 51.57 and Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which was down 4.30% to 2.96 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 374 to 157 and 99 ended unchanged.
Shares in Faurecia (EPA:EPED) fell to 5-year lows; losing 4.92% or 0.73 to 14.03. Shares in Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) fell to 52-week lows; falling 4.30% or 0.13 to 2.96.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.31% or 23.15 to $1,748.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.01% or 0.01 to hit $92.53 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.35% or 0.35 to trade at $99.69 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.00, while EUR/GBP rose 0.75% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 108.62.
