France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.81%
Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Industrials and Gas & Water sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.81%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.83%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP), which rose 2.01% or 3.45 points to trade at 174.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) added 1.98% or 0.73 points to end at 37.52 and Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) was up 1.83% or 3.10 points to 172.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which fell 9.56% or 2.37 points to trade at 22.43 at the close. Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) declined 7.16% or 1.31 points to end at 16.98 and Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) was down 3.25% or 3.12 points to 92.96.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Ipsen SA (EPA:IPN) which rose 2.90% to 85.30, Virbac SA (EPA:VIRB) which was up 2.53% to settle at 345.00 and Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which gained 2.49% to close at 23.06.
The worst performers were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) which was down 9.56% to 22.43 in late trade, CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which lost 7.41% to settle at 0.90 and Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) which was down 7.16% to 16.98 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 340 to 203 and 86 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.09% or 1.65 to $1,840.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.78% or 3.04 to hit $106.48 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 2.54% or 2.91 to trade at $111.74 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.48% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP rose 0.59% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 103.92.
