France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.43%
Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Utilities and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.43% to hit a new 1-month low, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR), which rose 6.28% or 6.44 points to trade at 109.02 at the close. Meanwhile, Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) added 1.78% or 1.52 points to end at 86.72 and Legrand SA (EPA:LEGD) was up 1.51% or 1.24 points to 83.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Credit Agricole SA (EPA:CAGR), which fell 4.01% or 0.42 points to trade at 9.98 at the close. Renault SA (EPA:RENA) declined 3.95% or 0.94 points to end at 22.71 and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) was down 3.25% or 19.30 points to 574.00.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) which rose 6.28% to 109.02, Arkema SA (EPA:AKE) which was up 3.42% to settle at 116.50 and Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which gained 2.08% to close at 47.58.
The worst performers were CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which was down 18.69% to 0.96 in late trade, Compagnie Plastic Omnium SE (EPA:PLOF) which lost 5.84% to settle at 14.50 and Credit Agricole SA (EPA:CAGR) which was down 4.01% to 9.98 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 306 to 223 and 113 ended unchanged.
Shares in Compagnie Plastic Omnium SE (EPA:PLOF) fell to 52-week lows; losing 5.84% or 0.90 to 14.50.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.41% or 7.64 to $1,876.44 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.36% or 0.39 to hit $107.42 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.07% or 0.08 to trade at $110.06 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 1.04% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP rose 1.29% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.21% at 103.83.
