France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.27%

Budrigannews.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Gas & Water, General Financial and Foods & Drugs sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.27%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.23%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST), which rose 2.71% or 1.03 points to trade at 39.16 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STM) added 2.12% or 0.70 points to end at 33.73 and Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) was up 1.56% or 0.15 points to 10.01 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO), which fell 2.72% or 0.65 points to trade at 23.24 at the close. Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) declined 2.14% or 2.16 points to end at 98.84 and Veolia Environnement VE SA (EPA:VIE) was down 1.98% or 0.48 points to 23.76.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Maisons du Monde SAS (EPA:MDM) which rose 5.33% to 9.69, Coface (EPA:COFA) which was up 3.13% to settle at 10.04 and Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) which gained 2.71% to close at 39.16.
The worst performers were Virbac SA (EPA:VIRB) which was down 9.81% to 340.00 in late trade, Fnac Darty SA (EPA:FNAC) which lost 3.11% to settle at 41.80 and Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) which was down 2.72% to 23.24 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 280 to 267 and 87 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.59% or 10.05 to $1,700.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.15% or 0.15 to hit $100.59 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.02% or 0.02 to trade at $107.33 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.34% to 1.02, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 106.87.
