France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.26%
Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.26%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF), which rose 3.24% or 1.72 points to trade at 54.76 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) added 3.02% or 0.70 points to end at 23.88 and Stellantis NV (EPA:STLA) was up 1.27% or 0.18 points to 14.03 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST), which fell 2.41% or 0.98 points to trade at 39.55 at the close. L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) declined 2.16% or 7.80 points to end at 354.10 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) was down 2.07% or 1.50 points to 70.96.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which rose 6.44% to 0.95, Vallourec (EPA:VLLP) which was up 6.26% to settle at 9.75 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) which gained 4.64% to close at 29.11.
The worst performers were Fnac Darty SA (EPA:FNAC) which was down 3.26% to 34.42 in late trade, Remy Cointreau (EPA:RCOP) which lost 2.64% to settle at 188.10 and Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) which was down 2.41% to 39.55 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 304 to 229 and 98 ended unchanged.
Shares in Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.07% or 1.50 to 70.96. Shares in Fnac Darty SA (EPA:FNAC) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.26% or 1.16 to 34.42.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.83% or 14.55 to $1,762.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 3.91% or 3.53 to hit $93.89 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 3.60% or 3.47 to trade at $99.95 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.39% to 1.00, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.29% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.60% at 108.33.
