France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 2.52%
Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 2.52%, while the SBF 120 index gained 2.52%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STM), which rose 5.99% or 2.14 points to trade at 37.88 at the close. Meanwhile, Renault SA (EPA:RENA) added 5.24% or 1.17 points to end at 23.60 and Veolia Environnement VE SA (EPA:VIE) was up 3.75% or 0.94 points to 25.98 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI), which fell 2.35% or 0.31 points to trade at 12.97 at the close. Thales (EPA:TCFP) declined 0.26% or 0.30 points to end at 113.95 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) was down 0.12% or 0.01 points to 11.67.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which rose 9.85% to 18.06, Mcphy Energy (EPA:MCPHY) which was up 7.19% to settle at 16.84 and La Francaise Des Jeux Sa (EPA:FDJ) which gained 6.55% to close at 34.96.
The worst performers were Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which was down 2.35% to 12.97 in late trade, Bollore SA (EPA:BOLL) which lost 0.50% to settle at 4.76 and Ovh Groupe SAS (EPA:OVH) which was down 0.29% to 18.91 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 391 to 148 and 94 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.77% or 14.09 to $1,810.51 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 3.97% or 4.21 to hit $110.34 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 3.60% or 3.87 to trade at $111.32 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.29% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 104.57.
