France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 2.21%

France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Gas & Water, General Financial and Foods & Drugs sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 2.21%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 2.18%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN), which rose 4.69% or 1.03 points to trade at 23.09 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) added 4.29% or 0.95 points to end at 23.23 and Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) was up 4.20% or 3.99 points to 98.96 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR), which rose 0.12% or 0.02 points to trade at 16.55 at the close. Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) added 0.35% or 0.28 points to end at 81.44 and Danone SA (EPA:DANO) was up 0.40% or 0.21 points to 52.26.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which rose 6.61% to 10.64, Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which was up 5.86% to settle at 2.94 and Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which gained 5.20% to close at 3.23.
The worst performers were Neoen SA (EPA:NEOEN) which was down 3.09% to 39.82 in late trade, Mcphy Energy (EPA:MCPHY) which lost 2.73% to settle at 11.59 and Maisons du Monde SAS (EPA:MDM) which was down 0.91% to 9.23 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 386 to 165 and 74 ended unchanged.
Shares in Mcphy Energy (EPA:MCPHY) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.73% or 0.32 to 11.59.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.94% or 16.10 to $1,725.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.80% or 0.69 to hit $87.30 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.17% or 1.08 to trade at $93.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 1.00, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.47% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 109.49.
